{"id":1678,"date":"2010-05-14T10:26:10","date_gmt":"2010-05-14T18:26:10","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.puckandmary.com\/blog_mary\/?p=1678"},"modified":"2010-05-14T10:26:10","modified_gmt":"2010-05-14T18:26:10","slug":"sweet-and-sour","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.puckandmary.com\/blog_mary\/2010\/05\/sweet-and-sour\/","title":{"rendered":"Sweet and Sour"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>From the Twin Daddy:<\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.puckandmary.com\/blog_mary\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/lemons.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-medium wp-image-1679\" style=\"border: 2px solid black;\" title=\"lemons\" src=\"http:\/\/www.puckandmary.com\/blog_mary\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/lemons-300x244.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"244\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.puckandmary.com\/blog_mary\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/lemons-300x244.jpg 300w, https:\/\/www.puckandmary.com\/blog_mary\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/05\/lemons.jpg 370w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>We have had a decent dose of sour recently when our current landlord told us that the owner wanted to sell the house we were living in and we needed to be out by August. \u00a0On the list of things I wanted to do between now and the boys arriving, packing my house and shipping my pregnant wife across town was not on it. \u00a0To be certain, I double checked the list. \u00a0Nope. \u00a0Not there. \u00a0Personally, I think that sounds terrible.<\/p>\n<p>We had a bad day or two as we worried about where we would end up and how things would turn out.<\/p>\n<p>Today, we get a dose of sweet as we sign a new lease on a larger house. \u00a0It has roughly the same commute, more space, lawn care included, and sits just off a well-maintained public park. \u00a0I think the key to making lemonade from lemons is finding the right sweetener and getting more space for Alexander and Dominic made this stressful situation something that Mary and I can both happily anticipate.<\/p>\n<h2>Babies Countdown &#8211; The Double Header<\/h2>\n<p>We have reached 23 weeks and 1 day. \u00a0Our OB-GYN has told us that she wants to deliver the kids by week 39 at the latest which means I get to bump my countdown forward from September 9 ( or 8 ) to September 2.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center; \"><strong><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">112 days until September 2<\/span><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Wednesday, May 19<\/strong> is our &#8220;<em>Getting to Know You<\/em>&#8221; appointment with a Pediatrician.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Thursday, May 20<\/strong> and the twins become viable as early as 24 weeks.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Monday, May 24th<\/strong> is an appointment with the Perinators.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Thursday, May 27<\/strong> is our next OB-GYN and 25 weeks.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Thursday, June 3<\/strong>, Mary makes another appointment to test for gestational diabetes.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Thursday, June 17<\/strong> is <span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Homefree Day<\/span><\/strong><\/span>. 90% of children born at 28 weeks survive and the odds only improve.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sometime in mid-July<\/strong> Mary gets fitted for her nursing bra and takes the super-sucker in for cleaning.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Thursday, August 12<\/strong> and we hit our goal of 36 weeks minimum. From here on the twins could come at any time.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Thursday, September 2<\/strong> and we reach 39 weeks. \u00a0The OB-GYN has said she doesn&#8217;t want Mary to carry beyond this date.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Thursday, September 9<\/strong> and we hit 40 weeks.
