{"id":1314,"date":"2010-04-01T21:05:57","date_gmt":"2010-04-02T05:05:57","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.puckandmary.com\/blog_mary\/?p=1314"},"modified":"2010-04-01T21:05:57","modified_gmt":"2010-04-02T05:05:57","slug":"mommy-mountain","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.puckandmary.com\/blog_mary\/2010\/04\/mommy-mountain\/","title":{"rendered":"Mommy-Mountain"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><strong>From the Twin Daddy:<\/strong><\/h2>\n<h2>Twin Day<\/h2>\n<div id=\"attachment_1315\" style=\"width: 324px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.puckandmary.com\/blog_mary\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/oops.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1315\" class=\"size-full wp-image-1315  \" style=\"border: 2px solid black;\" title=\"Oops\" src=\"http:\/\/www.puckandmary.com\/blog_mary\/wp-content\/uploads\/2010\/04\/oops.jpg\" alt=\"Whaddya mean as early as June?!!\" width=\"314\" height=\"254\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-1315\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Whaddya mean as early as July?!!<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Today is Twin Day here in California and we have reached 17 weeks with a burgeoning bulbous belly that is transitioning from baby-bump to mommy-mountain. \u00a0I don&#8217;t want to talk trash but wherever Mary goes the twins arrive a full two minutes before she does. \u00a0She is also well into the pregnant-lady baby waddle with the belly shifting from side to side as she walks. \u00a0(It&#8217;s pretty cute and hilarious.)<\/p>\n<p>I am also very pleased with her birthday present because now that bending over is getting harder she is wearing her sandals almost every day. \u00a0First, the carefully designed Birkenstocks ease her aching ankles. \u00a0Second, she doesn&#8217;t have to tie them. \u00a0Third, she can just slip them on and off without ever bending over. \u00a0Perfect.<\/p>\n<h2>Other thoughts&#8230;<\/h2>\n<p>We are one week away from <strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Halfway Home Da<\/span><\/span><\/strong><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">y<\/span><\/span><\/strong> which is our goal of at least 36 weeks of pregnancy. \u00a0That is a good goal but to be completely honest the other twin parents in our family delivered at 34.5 weeks. \u00a0That could put us with kids around the end of July!! <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><strong> Holy Cow!!<\/strong><\/span> You can expect my hair to spontaneously light on fire if that happens.<\/p>\n<p>If we are going to have some baby showers, we may have to hurry about it.<\/p>\n<h2>Wifewatch 2010<\/h2>\n<h4>Food<\/h4>\n<p>We&#8217;re definitely hitting the second growth spurt now because Mary has turned back into a ravenous momma bear again.<\/p>\n<p>Yesterday breaks down into:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Breakfast\n<ul>\n<li>A banana<\/li>\n<li>Hot decaf tea with milk<\/li>\n<li>A granola bar<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Lunch\n<ul>\n<li>4 bowls of chinese soup<\/li>\n<li>1 plate of pot stickers<\/li>\n<li>A full lunch order of sesame chicken with fried rice<\/li>\n<li>A starbucks coffee cake<\/li>\n<li>A steamed milk<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Snack\n<ul>\n<li>A bowl of oatmeal made with milk<\/li>\n<li>Hot decaf tea with milk<\/li>\n<li>An orange<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Dinner\n<ul>\n<li>Fried rice, sesame chicken, and broccoli beef leftovers reheated<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Snack\n<ul>\n<li>2 microwaveable burritos<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Before bed\n<ul>\n<li>Pregnancy\u00a0vitamins<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>That&#8217;s an impressive amount of twin food. \u00a0Looking over this list I&#8217;m going to fuss at her about getting a bit more milk for calcium.<\/p>\n<h4>Mood<\/h4>\n<p>She&#8217;s still pretty darned sick, and she&#8217;s fond of saying that she feels great from the neck down. \u00a0Other than that we&#8217;re just waiting to find out whether we are looking at boy babies or girl babies.<\/p>\n<h4>Sleep<\/h4>\n<p>With the growth spurt (combined with her allergies) comes the return of the power naps. \u00a0She conks out hard and has been sleeping until 4:30 PM.<\/p>\n<h2>Babies Countdown &#8211; The Double Header<\/h2>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><span style=\"color: #008000;\"><strong>161 Days until September 9<\/strong><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Today<\/strong> is 17 weeks.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sunday, April 4<\/strong> is our fist child birthing class.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Thursday, April 8<\/strong> is Twin Week number 18 and\u00a0<span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\"><strong><span style=\"color: #0000ff;\">Halfway Home Day<\/span><\/strong><\/span><\/span>.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Sunday, April 11<\/strong> is child birthing class number 2.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Wednesday, April 14<\/strong> is our first appointment with the\u00a0perinatologist. \u00a0Hope for gender information on this day.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Thursday,\u00a0April 15<\/strong> is week 19, a doctor&#8217;s appointment at the Women&#8217;s Clinic, and Tax Day .<\/li>\n<li><strong><strong>Sunday, April 18<\/strong> <\/strong><span>is child birthing class number 3.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><strong>Thursday, April 22<\/strong> is week 20 and our tour of the birthing facility at child birthing class number 4. \u00a0We should be feeling regular baby kicks by then. \u00a0(By this time we should also know the gender via ultrasound provided the little ones have not been shy.)<\/li>\n<li><strong>Thursday, May 7<\/strong> and the twins become viable as early as 22 weeks.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Thursday, May 20<\/strong> and 90% of twins born at 24 weeks survive and that number only gets better from here on out.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Thursday, August 12<\/strong> and we hit our goal of 36 weeks minimum. \u00a0From here on the twins could come at any time.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Thursday, September 9<\/strong> and we hit 40 weeks. \u00a0This is our due date even if we expect the twins to possibly come sooner.<\/li>\n<li><strong>4 Weeks Post Delivery<\/strong> &#8211;
